Unplugged Concert
The Portuguese saxophonist Rodrigo Amado – one of the most important European jazz musicians of the present day – gathers three of his long-standing and strongest musical influences in the lineup of his quartet The Bridge. In fact, the members are well-known figures of the international music scene: the legendary German pianist Alexander von Schlippenbach, the Norwegian double bassist Ingebrigt Håker Flaten, and the American drummer Gerry Hemingway.
Bandleader Rodrigo Amado dives deep into his musical roots with this band, which he has been intensely exploring in recent years.
With Schlippenbach, Håker Flaten, and Hemingway by his side, Amado has the perfect setting to explore the "classic" materials that he considers the foundation of his musical journey – an impulse that stems partly from himself and partly from history. This exciting quartet, whose name goes beyond a direct homage to Sonny Rollins, creates a bridge between different languages, backgrounds, and generations, all united through high-quality improvisations.
