Tickets for the Knödelfest can be purchased online from 7 April 2025 at 12 noon!
Tickets are limited and will be sold exclusively online and at the St. Johann in Tirol information office from 7 April 2025. Please note that it will not be possible to buy tickets on site on the day of the Knödelfest.

A special programme for children is offered at the dumpling festival. Sections of the narrow paths are difficult to negotiate with prams. Due to the high number of visitors, the dumpling festival is also not suitable for dogs.

Important information about the dumpling festival
The dumpling festival starts at 11.00. Dumplings are sold from this time.
Tickets are only available online in the ticket shop. Please note that there is a limited number of tickets, and from experience demand is very high. You get the dumpling festival badge at entrance areas upon presentation of your ticket.
Unfortunately no. Due to brisk trade, landlords cannot make any table reservations.
There are over 27 different dumplings, however unfortunately there are no gluten-free dumplings available at the moment.
It is not prohibited, but for your dog's welfare, we would not recommend it, since many visitors may be frightened of them.
The dumpling festival is well-attended, for that reason, some sections of the narrow paths are only passable with difficulty. Prams are not suitable for the festival.
All food establishments are open. There are also designated WC facilities in the festival area.
Go to the host landlord who will contact First Aiders/paramedics. Paramedics are on call within the festival area. Or dial the emergency number 112. Please provide information about the stand number you are at, which is visible at the point where food is served.
Lost property can be handed in to and collected from the official dumpling festival merchandise stands.
Children up to the age of 14 can enjoy the dumpling festival free of charge. Those aged 15 and over pay a Youth entry fee.
The event takes place whatever the weather, except in the event of extreme weather advisories.
The 595 metre dumpling table is located in the centre of St. Johann in Tirol.
There is a campsite in St. Johann in Tirol - Camping Michelnhof, Tel.: +43 5352 62584, www.camping-michelnhof.at. It is around a 20 minute walk from the campsite to the festival area.

Bus & group information
Online tickets and information for bus groups!
Due to regulatory requirements and to maintain the quality of the dumpling festival (particularly with regard to the safety and the number of visitors), without exception, all bus groups (tour coach companies) are to present valid tickets which have been purchased in advance online. Without valid entry tickets, which have been purchased in advance in the online ticket shop entry to the dumpling festival is not permitted. There is no cashdesk available on the day. Upon receipt of payment, you will receive a link via which all tickets for your guests (one ticket for each guest) can be printed out.
Once again this year there will be 2 designated and supervised bus parking spaces close to the festival area. If you have any questions, please contact the tourist association at info@kitzalps.cc, Tel: +43 5352 633350!
Arrival for buses from Innsbruck - Kufstein - Wörgl:
Follow the B 178 to exit B 161 in the direction of Lienz/Felbertauern/Kitzbühel/Bergbahn/St. Johann in Tirol. Change to the B 161 and follow Pass-Thurn-Straße for approx. 350 m, then turn left and follow Speckbacherstraße to the bus car park on Schießstandgasse.
Arrival for buses from Salzburg - Lofer:
In St. Johann in Tirol, stay on the B 178 until the B161 exit in the direction of Lienz/Felbertauern/Kitzbühel/Bergbahn/St. Johann in Tirol. Change to the B 161 and follow Pass-Thurn-Straße for approx. 350 m, then turn left and follow Speckbacherstraße to the bus parking spaces on Schießstandgasse.
Arrival for buses from Zell am See - Saalfelden:
Take the B 164 to St. Johann in Tirol, at the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Meranerstraße / B 164. Follow the slip road towards Innsbruck / Kufstein / Kitzbühel. Stay on the Salzburger Straße B 178 until the B161 exit in the direction of Lienz/Felbertauern/Kitzbühel/Bergbahn/St. Johann in Tirol. Change to the B 161 and follow Pass-Thurn-Straße for approx. 350 m, then turn left and follow Speckbacherstraße to the bus parking spaces on Schießstandgasse.
Arrival for buses from Kitzbühel:
Take the B 161 to St. Johann in Tirol and after Oberndorf take the first exit on the right, Speckbacherstraße. Follow Speckbacherstraße until you reach the bus parking spaces on Schießstandgasse.
Bus parking spaces cannot be reserved and are free of charge on the day of the Knödelfest. The bus driver receives a free ticket for the Knödelfest as well as a voucher for a dumpling and a drink in the festival area.
Tips for a great dumpling festival
checkPlease note that every guest needs a ticket and this must be presented at the entrance and upon exit.
checkGuests receive the popular dumpling festival badge and the dumpling festival recipe pamphlet at designated bus parking areas and at official entrance points.
checkNo drinks or dumplings are available before the official start of the dumpling festival. Other food is somewhat difficult to obtain too since the landlords will be busy with setting up before the event.
checkThe biggest crowd of visitors is expected around 14.30/15.00. After that things become a little more ‘airy’.
checkPlease use the designated bus parking area, which is located close to the festival area.
checkA WC container is available at parking areas.

St. Johann in Tirol once again became a dumpling metropolis. The longest dumpling table in the world takes place in September each year.
