Dumpling festival in St. Johann in Tirol

Dumpling festival in St. Johann in Tirol

The most well-known dumpling festival far and wide, with the longest dumpling table in the world, is one of the most visited and most popular culinary events in Tyrol. Every year when the call at ‘Oktoberfest’ in Munich is: ‘O’zapft is!’ (the beer is tapped), here in St. Johann in Tirol we celebrate with our dumpling festival ... a real treat for dumpling fans.

Bacon, bread roll, cheese and apricot dumplings are among the favourites served here. Every year over 26,000 dumplings made using 27 different recipes are served by 20 festival landlords .

Along with dumplings 8 music groups provide the best ambience and entertainment. This is when the centre of St. Johann in Tirol is transformed into a gigantic ‘open-air inn’! On the day, locals and guests from across the globe wear their splendid ‘Dirndl’ and snazzy ‘Lederhosen’.

Take a seat at the 595 metre long dumpling table and be enchanted by the delicious dumplings served by the festival landlords, by the thrilling live music and by the pretty Mädls and dashing Buam!
