Carla Pires has one of the most beautiful and impressive voices in the Fado scene. She established herself as the new "Queen of Fado" in Portugal in 2004, and since then she has created a unique identity with her highly sophisticated approach to the complex theme of Fado. The artist effortlessly seems to adapt this ancient musical tradition with a light and modern, almost transparent cloak, accented with barely noticeable jazz and world music influences.
On stage, supported by excellent musicians and her distinctive sound, Carla Pires captivates with her strong presence and the power and talent to enchant her audience – a great singer with a unique voice that carries the Fado and its special feeling through astonishing musical roots. After a celebrated concert tour through France, Spain, Austria, and Algeria in 2008, she stepped into the international spotlight as a Fado singer. Since then, she has been constantly touring and leaving behind an enthusiastic audience in Europe, Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
