Event information

The ensemble Brettspiele is passionately dedicated to Alpine folk music and folklore as well as classical literature. The three dulcimer players met during their studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and now share their enthusiasm as teachers. In varying formations with two dulcimers and harp or three dulcimers, they showcase the impressive diversity of their instrument.

In this concert, the ensemble Brettspiele embarks on a journey into the Baroque period. The focus is on the chromatic Salzburg dulcimer and its historical roots. The program includes original works for the Salterio (one of the precursors of the dulcimer) as well as arrangements by Johann Sebastian Bach, Michael Praetorius, and Antonio Vivaldi. The program is supplemented by students from the talent promotion program of the St. Johann in Tirol regional music school.
