Gsundheitsbründlweg health trail in Hopfgarten

How about a little discovery-hike in the town of Hopfgarten? The Gsundheitsbründlweg is a leisurely circular hiking trail at the foot of Hohe Salve, which offers fabulous views of the market centre of Hopfgarten and the surrounding mountains time and again. Through a shady forest, past streams and meadows, the trail leads to various stations. Resting, enjoying, refreshing and exercising - that is the motto on the Gsundheitsbründlweg health trail. The hiking trail is also perfectly suited for walking-tours and Trailrun-sessions and can be extended at will all the way to Sunnseit-Lodge or the mid-station Hopfgarten.

Starting point for the hike is directly at the info office in Hopfgarten. From there it’s a leisurely walk past the Familotel and Villa Ritsch to the parish church. Take a moment and marvel at the impressive church in the centre of the market. You can catch great views of the towers from many points along the hiking trail. Just to the right after the church, a small road leads uphill. After a few metres on Lehenweg road, the route continues into a forest. Steadily uphill, the beautiful path winds its way up to the first rest station. On the comfortable wooden bench you can catch sight of the town of Hopfgarten from above. After an enjoyable break, the first scenic lookout bench also beckons to work on your fitness. The bench can be used for various stretching and fitness exercises. For inspiration you’ll also find small wooden tablets there with exercise instructions. The hiking trail then continues along the forest edge to the next station. There you’ll find a comfortable wooden lounger, from which you can catch sight of the town of Hopfgarten from a new perspective. A big door opens up the view of Kelchsau side valley with the high peaks. Then it’s on through the forest, past the stream to the G'sundheitsbründl - a small well, from which you are welcome to have a sip. You’ll find the next station some distance further away in a forest clearing. Perfect for training your coordination, it features various balancing equipment, such as a suspension bridge, poles and a wobbly platform. The last station is almost at the end of the trail. On a field, a beautiful platform with a comfortable swinging lounger has been put up. End your hike along the Gsundheitsbründlweg trail on a comfortable note and swing above the town of Hopfgarten. The way back then leads along a field and forest road to the starting point again.
