Midsummer Celebrations on top of the Hohe Salve

The summer solstice bonfires have a long-standing tradition in Tyrol and the Kitzbühel Alps and are a real spectacle.
Fires are lit on the top of the mountains to enforce the strength of the sun and drive evil spirits away from humans and animals.

The view right from the mountain tops is particularly breathtaking, revealing a completely unknown facet of the majestic mountain world of the Kitzbühel Alps in Tyrol.

The solstice bonfire on the Hohe Salve in detail:
The gondola lift-Salvenbahn I & II- operating from 7 p.m. - 11 p.m.

Observation of the sunset through the solar telescope:
at the little sun church from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.

TIP: the Gipfelalm restaurant at the top of the Hohe Salve is open!
