The nights are getting longer, the snowflakes gently falling onto the fields and Christmas is just around the corner! To shorten the wait for Father Christmas, the traditional customs events in the Region PillerseeTal beckon to visit, marvel and linger. Amidst the fabulous winter scenery, the snow-covered slopes of the surrounding mountains and the snowy peaks, the best time of year is traditionally sweetened with home-baked cookies, hot mulled wine and tasty candied almonds. Between the second and third weekend in Advent, the anticipation of Christmas is sweetened all the more. A Christmas village by the lake, surrounded by water, forest and meadows beckons old and young to linger.

At Pillersee, cosy Advent booths beckon to stroll and linger. Selected artisans present what they have prepared in loving handicraft. Brass bands raise Christmassy melodies, reflective texts and Christmas stories touch the soul.
Practically no electric light, instead candles, torches and warming fire bowls light up the way to the rustic wooden huts, which are decorated with much love for detail and radiate warmth amidst the wintry alpine world. At the “village square” visitors can watch glassblowers, clog-makers, lathe workers and quill embroiderers at work, who are at home in PillerseeTal and impress with their dexterity as well as special gift ideas. Storytellers capture listeners imagination, old tunes and melodies sound out and children can probably wait even less for the big celebrations to start after taking part in the programme put together especially for them.
Flickering candlelight, dancing snowflakes, sparkling fire and spicy scents.
