Vintage cars on the road: Alpen Rally 2020 in Hopfgarten:
Thursday, 1 October, from 3:30 p.m., Marktplatz (market square)
Also this year, the Kitzbüheler Alpen Rally will have a stop in Hopfgarten - but, due to Covid-19, for the first time in autumn. More than 150 precious vintage cars built between 1923 and 1975 are expected for stamp control in the market square of Hopfgarten on Thursday, 1 October from approx. 3:30 p.m.
Corona or no Corona - luckily, the virus can't impress the most beautiful vintage cars. Just like in recent years, visitors will have the opportunity to watch the rolling gems from close when they move at a slow pace in 30-seconds intervals over the market square. It'll take about one hour and a half until all participating cars will have received their stamp.
The vehicles will start their tour in Kitzbühel and when they arrive in Hopfgarten, they will turn sharp to the right after the underpass and go along Meierhofgasse in the direction of the market square (the one-way will be closed to public transport during that time) where all participating cars must stop for stamp control. After being greeted by the team of the tourist association and under the applause of the crowd, the vehicles will then set off on their way back to Kitzbühel by taking the route through the Windau valley up to Westendorf, then to Kirchberg and Aschau and finally back to where they started.
