Good to know

Infrastructure & Nature – working together

The Kirchberg Trail is built according to clear, environmentally responsible trail-building standards. Planning and construction are carried out in close coordination with conservation authorities, forestry services and landowners, with sensitive areas carefully avoided or thoughtfully integrated. Wooden boardwalks, rest areas and viewpoints are added only where they make sense and enhance the overall experience. The result is a trail that fits naturally into the landscape – functional, sustainable and respectful of its surroundings.

Why this trail matters

The Kirchberg Trail is more than just another bike route. It creates a high-quality, clearly designated trail offering that improves orientation, reduces pressure on existing paths and helps separate biking and hiking where it makes sense. At the same time, it strengthens the summer season, increases the region’s overall appeal and supports local value creation. With the Kirchberg Trail, the Brixental Valley trail network grows to over 40 kilometers – not by chance, but as part of a clear, long-term strategy.

Built Together

The Kirchberg Trail is the result of the dedication and hard work of many committed partners. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the construction companies ALLEGRA, WETS, GEORG KRAMER, HTB, KOLAB, and MAURACHER, as well as the Kirchberg municipal works team of the Kitzbüheler Alpen – Brixental Tourism Association. Their expertise, commitment, and support played a key role in bringing this special trail project to life.

Bike Masterplan 2030 – the next step

The Kirchberg Trail is embedded in a long-term development plan. Through 2030, the BIKE ARGE is making focused, ongoing investments in the region’s bike infrastructure.
