Kirchberg Trail
The longest flow trail in Tyrol. From top to bottom.
With the Kirchberg Trail, a major new mountain biking project is taking shape in the Brixental Valley – right in Kirchberg - as part of the 360° Flow Trails. This continuous top-to-bottom flow trail links the Fleckalmbahn mountain station directly with the Gaisberg trail network, creating a ride that’s long, smooth and consistent all the way down.
Construction officially began on 17th July 2025, with the opening planned for 13th June 2026. Around 10 kilometers of newly built trail sections, combined with existing connections, will make the Kirchberg Trail the longest flow trail in Tyrol. This isn’t a showcase project – it’s a sustainable expansion of the bike offering in Brixental Valley, built with a clear concept and real added value for both guests and the region.

Route & Riding Style
The Kirchberg Trail starts exactly where it should: at the top. From the Fleckalmbahn mountain station, the trail flows downhill section by section – no interruptions, no forced stops. The rhythm stays consistent from start to finish. Natural terrain alternates with built features, berms roll into waves, side hits are there if you want them – but never mandatory. The trail remains predictable and easy to control for beginners, while experienced riders stay engaged thanks to its length, flow and well-paced layout.

Infrastructure & Nature – working together
The Kirchberg Trail is built according to clear, environmentally responsible trail-building standards. Planning and construction are carried out in close coordination with conservation authorities, forestry services and landowners, with sensitive areas carefully avoided or thoughtfully integrated. Wooden boardwalks, rest areas and viewpoints are added only where they make sense and enhance the overall experience. The result is a trail that fits naturally into the landscape – functional, sustainable and respectful of its surroundings.
Why this trail matters
The Kirchberg Trail is more than just another bike route. It creates a high-quality, clearly designated trail offering that improves orientation, reduces pressure on existing paths and helps separate biking and hiking where it makes sense. At the same time, it strengthens the summer season, increases the region’s overall appeal and supports local value creation. With the Kirchberg Trail, the Brixental Valley trail network grows to over 40 kilometers – not by chance, but as part of a clear, long-term strategy.
Bike Masterplan 2030 – the next step
The Kirchberg Trail is embedded in a long-term development plan. Through 2030, the BIKE ARGE is making focused, ongoing investments in the region’s bike infrastructure, including:
• new trails along the Streif
• a direct bike connection from the Hahnenkamm to the Fleckalm Trail
• further expansion of bike offerings on the Gaisberg
• attractive routes for (e-)bikers
• a potential link to the Saalbach-Hinterglemm region
