Bergwacht Chapel

On the hill where the Fischbachalm is located in the nature reserve in Kaiserbach valley you get to explore this place of devotion. The chapel was built in 1984 by St. Johann in Tirol, Kirchdorf and Going mountain rescue services. The Bergwacht Chapel remembers all those mountaineers who have had an accident in the Kaiser Mountains. The names of all those who have died in the ‘Kaiser’ are immortalised on brass plaques on its rock faces. Candles, flowers and pictures are there to honour the dead at the place of worship at the foot of the northern rock faces of the Wilder Kaiser. Locals have on many occasions called this chapel the Bergtotenkapelle (Chapel for all those who died in the mountains).
