Maria Blut Einsiedelei hermitage

From St. Johann in Tirol it is just a few minutes’ walk to the Maria Blut Einsiedelei hermitage so you can escape the daily grind. The pilgrimage chapel nestles at the foot of the Niederkaiser in St. Johann in Tirol. The little hermitage has been inhabited by hermits continuously for over 300 years. This wonderful place above St. Johann in Tirol is currently inhabited and looked after by a Sister from the Order of the Sisters of the Holy Cross. The chapel is embellished by a Baroque pillared altar with a copy of the Miraculous Image of the Virgin Mary from Ré in Piedmont. Many visitors walk along the carved stations of the cross from Burgwiesen farm up to the Einsiedelei hermitage, seeking contemplation in prayer.
