Jeunesse Concert: SAGS Quartet | Boulangerie

In 2026 we celebrate 270 years of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The image by Peter Thaler shows W. A. Mozart with his father during a stay in St. Johann.
The name Coronation Mass was first documented in writing in 1862 in the first edition of the Köchel catalogue. It was most likely composed for the Easter service 1779 at Salzburg Cathedral, which fell on April 4. Immediately after Mozart's death, the Mass KV 317 became the preferred composition for services at imperial and royal coronations as well as for thanksgiving services. It is believed to have been used for the coronation celebrations of Emperor Francis II for the first time. Characteristic of this Mass are the symphonic elements. Solo voices and choir are clearly separated from each other. The oboe also plays a special role.
