Those familiar with Ingebrigt Håker Flaten's thirty-year career as one of the most outstanding musicians in jazz and improvised music knew from the start that this project would be something special: (Exit) Knarr, originally launched in 2020 as a commissioned project for the Vossa Jazz Festival, has evolved into a dynamic, genre-crossing ensemble that seamlessly merges elements of Norwegian folk music, avant-garde jazz, and international rhythms. Since then, (Exit) Knarr has extensively toured Europe, gaining recognition at renowned festivals and establishing itself as a staple in contemporary jazz. Despite changing line-ups, the band retains its captivating energy and spirit of exploration – a true delight and unrestrained joy.
