The small village is located in an idyllic side valley, which extends from Hopfgarten to the south. In summer as in winter, you can discover and explore untouched nature in Kelchsau. Rustic farms, deserted mountain peaks and true Tirolean hospitality await you! All those looking for some time out from the everyday stress, will find peace, quiet and solitude in the mountains in the holiday resort Kelchsau. At the same time, the valley is well developed, easy to get to and also connected to public transport. Thus you’ll find all vital infrastructure for your holidays near your accommodation.
The valley of Kelchsau branches out at the end of the small village into Langer Grund and Kurzer Grund. These two branches can be reached via a toll-road and lead deep into the side valley to the starting points for the most scenic hikes and to rustic Alpine lodges. Hikes and ski tours up to the highest peaks of the Kitzbühel Alps, which lead all the way to the border to Salzburg, can be tackled there. From the summits you also keep catching views of the two neighbouring valleys, Windautal and Wildschönau.
