Steinerberg Running Loop

The Steinerberg loop starts at the Koasastadion. Follow the underpass towards the center. Once you reach the Ache, walk along Gasteigerstraße. Another underpass takes you to Kössener Straße. Turn left after the bus stop and follow the signs for “Hinterkaiser”. After the small settlement, follow a footpath into the hamlet of Bärnstetten and past the Aigen farm on a little-used local road. Just before the forest, keep left to continue on a gravel path. At the next farm, continue on asphalt to Hinterkaiserweg. After approx. 500 meters, the trail continues through woodland with some clearings, mostly on gravel, sometimes on forest ground. After a small ascent, you reach the Steinerberg hill. Then it's a leisurely walk back to the plain, to the hamlet of Rettenbach. The Roman path leads you to the Reither Ache. Now you walk along the river, which soon flows into the Kitzbüheler Ache and takes you back to the center of St. Johann in Tirol. To get back to your starting point, the Koasastadion, take the underpass at the fire station.
