The unspoiled Kaiserbachtal valley and the jagged Wilder Kaiser mountains have been attracting hikers, mountaineers and nature lovers for centuries. In the summer the small side valley, which is part of the Kaisergebirge Nature Preserve, serves as base for countless hiking and rock climbing tours. The impressive mountain range is shrouded in mystery and home to many stories.
This hike starts at the parking lot in Kaiserbachtal in the hamlet of Griesenau (bus access available). Follow the hiking trail into the valley. The views of the snow-covered peaks are stunning. Near the Fischbachalm is a small chapel, which commemorates mountaineers who died in the Wilder Kaiser Range. The hike continues further into the valley and leads to Griesner Alm. Backtrack the way you came.
This tail is not cleared and also possible with snowshoes.
