The Kitzbüheler Alpen offers a very special service for the KAT Walk long-distance hiking trail exclusively in all the complete hassle-free packages. Transporting luggage from stage finish to stage finish. This allows you to hike each daily route with virtually no baggage while still having everything you need for a relaxed holiday. As you want more on several days of hiking than what you can fit in a backpack, we offer our hikers a comprehensive luggage transport service in our KAT Walk packages. We will take care of transporting your belongings - as you want to be hiking and not trailing things about everywhere ;)
Just hand your luggage in the reception before 09:00 am and after your hike it will be waiting at 03:00 pm at the latest in your next accommodation. One regular item of luggage up to a maximum of 15 kg per person can be transported. The luggage will be weighed on arrival! Excess baggage charges apply.
Should you need to have several items of luggage transported, this is available for a surcharge - simply request this in booking or order with the information team by 7 days before arrival at the latest at info@kat-walk.at .

* For lunchtime a lot of rustic huts along the KAT Walk offer enticing places to stop off and eat (Opening times under news)! As it is not always possible to find somewhere on the nature-filled stages, you are welcome to consult your accommodation provider to buy a packed lunch from them.
** You will receive stage maps to take along in the detailed information booklet you receive after booking. You can also find all the hiking maps online with the Option for downloading GPX data for your GPS navigation. In addition, you can also find the KAT Walk in the Kitzbüheler Alpen East and Kitzbüheler Alpen West hiking maps - these can be purchased in all tourist information centres in the Kitzbüheler Alpen for Euro 6- per map.

On all stages of the KAT Walk Alpine there is at least one accommodation provider that allows pets. </strong>When booking just click on "dogs welcome"</strong>. Please note that only one dog is accepted per booking. The trail is possible for dogs. The extra costs for the dog will be paid when you are there with the accommodation provider. For the KAT Walk Compact, taking dogs all the way is not possible. If you are prepared though to spend two nights' stay in one resort (to skip one resort), you can hike the KAT Walk Compact fully with a dog also. Please note: the first day of booking is always the arrival day. Hiking follows every day from the next day. On the last day of hiking you will have another comfortable night's stay and after breakfast take a free return journey to the starting point.

Cancellations can be made for free up to one month before arrival. After this costs are staggered (1 month to 1 week before day of arrival 70 % of total package price due; in the final week before arrival 90 % of total package price due).
Yes, absolutely! On the KAT Walk there are no obstacles for your dog, provided that the dog has enough fitness to complete it. Yes, 99 % of our guests hike it at their own pace. The KAT Walk is signposted throughout with the KAT Walk logo. From us you will receive map material with detailed directions. You can also download GPX data for every stage from the interactive map of the Kitzbühel Alps.
