What is insured?

  • checkserious accidental bodily injury

  • checkPregnancy & Complications during pregnancy

  • checkSignificant material damage to the place of residence caused by elementary events, fire, burst water pipes or criminal acts

  • checkIn case of no-show the cancellation costs owed under the contract will be reimbursed up to the insured travel price!

  • checkIn case of trip interruption the travel services not used will be reimbursed up to the insured travel price and the additional return trip expenses!

Acting as insurer is Europäische Reiseversicherung AG, with registered office in Vienna / Austria. The insurance cover is effective worldwide and for all insured travel services. The travel cancellation insurance cover begins already at the time of successfully taking out the travel insurance. It ends when starting the trip and then seamlessly transitions into a trip interruption insurance. The complete insurance cover ends with the end of your trip or with the prior expiry of the insurance.

How does booking work?

1. Calculate individual premium

Even before concluding your insurance online, you can have your personal premium for the travel cancellation insurance calculated quickly and anonymously. Stating the number of travellers, the trip length and total trip price is enough for this.

2. Provide personal details

If you are satisfied with the premium calculated upfront, you can complete the purchase of the insurance product directly online with Europäische Reiseversicherung. Only now will you provide the personal details required for this as in the form.

3. Check your details and pay

Before you move on to the payment page, you are given the opportunity to verify all your details and make any changes required. When everything is correct, you can conveniently pay for the product directly to Europäischen Reiseversicherung by credit card or have the amount debited from your bank account (direct debit).

4. Summary & Confirmation

After conclusion of the insurance and successful payment, you will see a summary of your provided details on the screen as well as your personal policy number. Please note this down just in case. Following this, you will receive a summary of your details and the ordered insurance policy directly by email from Europäische Reiseversicherung. Please keep this document safely and check that it’s correct one more time, just in case.

If within the next two days you should receive NO EMAIL with the relevant details, please directly contact the Service-Center of Europäische Reiseversicherung stating your policy number.

When does my insurance cover start?

As soon as you have concluded the travel cancellation insurance online, you will be shown a corresponding, individual policy number on the screen. Shortly after, you should receive in your mailbox a relevant email with your personal insurance policy. This once more clearly sets out the details concerning the selected insurance product, the policy number, information about conclusion of the insurance contract and the contractual terms as well as the total costs incl. taxes. Additional information regarding the coverage area and your personal details complete the insurance policy. The actual insurance cover becomes effective after successful payment of the corresponding premium.

Should you not receive the insurance confirmation by email, please contact the service point of Europäische Reiseversicherung (Tel. +43 1 317 2500 - 73920 or info@europaeische.at). Please keep your individual policy number ready for this communication, which will be displayed to you on your screen on the confirmation page when concluding insurance online.

We recommend taking the insurance documents with you in printed form on your trip. Should you not have a printer, or other option for printing out, please simply note down the insurance details, the policy number and the emergency phone numbers of Europäische Reiseversicherung!

How does payment work

Payment is made directly to our insurance partner, Europäische Reiseversicherung. Payment can be made using classic direct debit or by credit cards.

What to do in the event of a complaint?

Complaints must always be individually processed and assessed by Europäische Reiseversicherung. This may take a few days, but as a rule no more than 5 days. Please note that the insurance is authorised to request further details and information from you, in order to process any complaints expediently.

Complaints can be filed conveniently and easily via the corresponding online form of Euopäische Reiseversicherung, by email or to the complaints office (beschwerde@europaeische.at) or by letter (to Europäische Reiseversicherung AG, attn. Complaints office, Kratochwjlestrasse 4, A-1220 Vienna).

In case of a complaint, please state your personal details, your policy number or a claim number in any case. The more additional information you include, the more individually the insurance can process your complaint.
