Tour information

The starting point of this hike is at the Gasthof Wegscheid parking lot in Kurzer Grund.
From there, follow path no. 734 towards Kröndlhorn. Shortly before the Neue Bamberger Hütte, at the beginning of the Kuhwildalm, you reach a fork in the path where you turn left towards Streitenfeldalm. At the alpine pasture, follow path no. 734 to the Kröndlhorn (2444 m).
Return to the starting point via the same route.

Alternatively, at the Streitfeldenalm, you can take the forest road towards Markkirchl and then hike via the path to the Neue Bamberger Hütte. This addition extends the hike by approx. 1h 15 min and 4 kilometers.

Getting there Coming from Innsbruck/Munich: A12 exit Wörgl Ost – feeder road B178 towards St. Johann i. T. & Kitzbühel – after the tunnel take the exit towards Hopfgarten – at the roundabout take the exit onto the B170 towards Hopfgarten – turn right through the underpass and over the bridge towards Kelchsau – continue into the valley on the L205 Kelchsauer Straße for approx. 10 km to the toll station (car toll ) – turn left after the toll station – through Kurzen Grund to Gasthof Wegscheid

Coming from Kitzbühel: B170 Brixentalstraße towards Wörgl – in Hopfgarten turn left before the second railway underpass over the bridge towards Kelchsau - approx. 10 km to the toll station (car toll EUR 5.00) – turn left after the toll station – through Kurzen Grund to Gasthof Wegscheid
