When dusk falls over the Brixental in the evening hours, an impressive natural spectacle of a special kind unfolds. During the Brixentaler Bergleuchten, thousands of torches transform the mountain slopes into artistic, glowing images. Local clubs carefully design traditional motifs, coats of arms, and inscriptions on the mown meadows, which come to life after nightfall.
At around 9:30 PM, the over 40,000 torches are lit, bathing the landscape in a moody sea of lights. The glowing artworks harmoniously blend into the alpine backdrop and create a unique atmosphere that fascinates anew each year. The Bergleuchten is particularly impressive along the route from Westendorf through Brixen im Thale to Kirchberg.
