With the Maierlbahn I, the Kitzbühel Mountain Railways have created a significant relief for the previously used Fleckalmbahn and simultaneously provided a closer access to the ski area for guests in Kirchberg.
The lift, opened in 2010, replaces the two double chairlifts Maierl I and Maierl II. At the same time, the lift Maierl III was replaced by the modern 8-seater Ochsalmbahn.
In combination, the Maierlbahnen and the Ochsalmbahn provide a comfortable connection from Kirchberg up to the Ehrenbachhöhe and significantly ease access to the slopes of the ski area.
