A physically demanding stage over the well-known Kitzbüheler Horn to St. Johann in Tirol, which you can shorten with the help of several cable cars, however. Views in all directions, a well-kept alpine flower garden and several stopping off points make this stage a special experience! The way down from the mountain to Harschbichl is spectacular. On the descent you can also use the Bergbahn Harschbichl cable car to get to St. Johann - (1,600m–650m, and a time saving of around two hours).

Schon der Aufstieg zur Brixenbachalm entlang eines künstlerisch gestalteten Kreuzwegs ist ein erster Höhepunkt dieses Tages. Durch offenes Wald- und Almgelände erreicht man die malerisch in einen Sattel eingebettete Wiegalm. Von hier ist es nur mehr ein kurzer Aufstieg auf den lang gezogenen Bergrücken des Gaisbergs. Durch den geologischen Aufbau des obersten Bereichs am Gaisberg ändert sich auch die Landschaft und Vegetation: Es dominiert der Kalk mit Karsterscheinungen und Latschenkiefernbewuchs. Der Gipfel bietet außerdem einen wunderbaren 360° Rundblick. Der Abstieg durch einen schönen Mischwald kann am Schluss durch die Fahrt mit einem Sessellift abgekürzt werden.

Auf Fahrwegen Steigen geht es durchs Almgelände zum höchsten Punkt der Tour auf der Ehrenbachhöhe. Von hier wandert man auf dem Hahnenkamm-Bergrücken durchs Kitzbüheler Schigebiet hinüber zur Hahnenkamm-Bergstation, ehe der Abstieg entlang der Streif-Rennstrecke nach Kitzbühel beginnt. Es gibt Erklärungen mit Schautafeln zu einzelnen bekannten Streckenabschnitten (z.B. Mausefalle). Teilweise atemberaubende Aussichten auf Kitzbühel und den Wilden Kaiser. Mittelschwere Steige beim Auf- und Abstieg, dazwischen Passagen auf Fahrwegen prägen die Wegcharakteristik.

This route leads through easy to … moderately difficult climbs and forest routes, with ascents being moderate and only a little steeper on short sections. With around 1,200 metres to be gained in total, you need some stamina, however. Along the route, you will pass countless mountain pastures. If you are lucky, you will be able to meet the 'pasture writer', Sepp Kahn, on the Unteren Lärchenbergalm. He records the life of an Alpine dairy farmer in his diaries.

From the Hahnenkamm via the legendary Streif run The route starts in the centre of Aschau … Going between Gredwirt and Aschauerhof you follow the Pengelstein, 3 h sign and go up the path through meadows to begin with, before continually heading up short sections of forest. Forest paths are crossed several times, but you must always follow signs for Pengelstein or Schwarzkogel.

A culinary route through the sea of alpine roses Varied hike in complete peace and quiet, past … several historic mountain pasture buildings and an upland moor near the Hintenkarscharte, along with a waterfall close to the end of the stage. There are notable alpine rose coverings on the Scheibenschlag upland moor. Plus a dream view of the surrounding mountains, the icy giants of the Hohe Tauern, and the imposing peak of the Großen Rettenstein, which feels within touching distance. The paths are mostly not all too difficult, with only the sections on either side of the Hintenkarscharte classified as moderately difficult. Due to the length of around 19 kilometres, you need to be in fair shape.
