Landscape, People & Favorite Places – the different bike tour (Stories in German)

This special tour does not focus on cycling itself – rather, it offers you the opportunity to discover hidden treasures and learn interesting facts about the region. The tour is accompanied by Martina from the tourism association, who has a story to tell about every place, every hamlet, and almost every stone.

From the meeting point in St. Johann in Tirol, the tour heads idyllically along the Kitzbüheler Ache towards Kirchdorf – always accompanied by splendid scenery, fresh Tyrolean air, and various anecdotes from Martina. Upon reaching the center of Kirchdorf, there are exciting insider stories about the village, the church, and the historic butcher's house. Stories that you won’t find in any travel guide. Now, a visit to the lovingly designed and well-maintained Glückskräutergarten is a must. There, Sonja, a passionate gardener and herbal fairy, will take you on a journey through her garden. It quickly becomes clear here: for almost everything, there is a herb that will help.
Next, the route continues to Erpfendorf to Bichlbauern, where Barbara and Ägidius run their farm with a lot of dedication, humor, and genuine Tyrolean hospitality. Barbara provides exciting insights into life on the farm and shows how much work, love, and early rising go into the homemade delicacies. Of course, a tasting cannot be missed – especially the highly sought-after farm bread.
Not far away, the Clemens Holzmeister Church dedicated to St. Barbara awaits, featuring a small architectural highlight. After the exciting insights, it’s time to take off your shoes and dip your legs in! In the Kneipp facility, tired biking legs can be wonderfully refreshed. Well-rested and cooled down, the route then leads back comfortably to St. Johann in Tirol.

Equipment: We recommend riding an e-bike. If you are fit, you can surely keep up with a regular bike. Rental bikes are not included.

Tip: Bring some cash in case you want to buy a culinary treat from Barbara.
