On the Luigambach in Kirchdorf in Tirol, one of the oldest small hydropower plants in Tirol is located.
Where the reservoir in Kirchdorf lies today, there once stood the farm "Talschmiede". When the dam project on the Luigam was implemented in 1901/1902, this farm had to give way. For power generation, a 10-meter high wall was built, and a pressure pipe system of 354 meters was installed. From 1954 to 2020, the power plant was maintained and operated by TIWAG.
