The place near the Gmail Chapel is a very special "Platzl" and now serves many hikers and pilgrims as a place for inner reflection.
A very special power spot is the Lourdes Grotto at the Niederkaiser Ridge, a little below the Gmail Chapel. In a rock outcrop, you will find the impressive statue of Mary. Here you can contemplate and switch off. In 1956, a citizen of St. Johann made a pilgrimage to Lourdes to seek healing for his illness. He promised the holy Mary, Mother of God, that if he were healed, he would build a Lourdes Grotto in his homeland. And so it happened.
