In 1984, this chapel was built by the mountain rescue service of St. Johann in Tirol, Kirchdorf, and Going.
The place of devotion commemorates all mountain climbers who have died in the Kaiser Mountains. The names of all those who found death in the "Kaiser" are immortalized on brass plaques on the walls. Candles, flowers, and pictures honor the deceased in the house of God at the foot of the northern walls of the Wilder Kaiser. The locals often refer to this chapel as the mountain cemetery chapel.
