Update 03.07.2020 11:00 Due to a storm, a section of the KAT Walk Alpine stage 1 (between Hopfgarten, Schönbachtal and Penningberg) was unfortunately torn away from the water. The path was partially rinsed out so that it is no longer passable. We will of course endeavor to make the path accessible again as soon as possible, but it will take some time and at the moment we have redirected:
Briefly to the provisional route: Information office Hopfgarten - pedestrian underpass at Raiffeisenbank - cool air towards Fischteich - before Fischteich turn left onto the forest road towards Grafenweg - past old farms - at 'Platzernbauern' cross Grafenweger Straße - continue towards Penningberg - after approx. 1.5 km you end up in the original KAT Walk. The detour is approx. 1.8 km longer, i.e. approx. 20-30 min longer walking time. Please download pdf:
