30 Jahre Alpenschule Westendorf
The Almabtrieb and the Almfest in Westendorf will form a charming highlight for the start of the autumn season on Saturday, September 19, 2026, starting at 10:00 a.m. at the festival square Paulschneidern in the town center. The focus will be on the traditional return of the farmers, when the festively decorated cattle are driven back from the alpine pastures into the valley – a living tradition that attracts numerous visitors every year.
As part of the “Hoamfahrerfest,” typical Brixental specialties and regional treats invite you to enjoy in a lively atmosphere. A varied musical program also ensures great entertainment, with the group “die Hinterlechner” contributing traditional music to create an authentic festival mood.
Already on Thursday, September 17, 2026, the Schau-Zuichi market will kick off the Almabtriebswochenende (Alm drive weekend) with old crafts, culinary delights, and live music in the town center. On Friday, September 18, 2026, the Almabtriebs-Dämmerschoppen with regional specialties and a social gathering will set the mood for the festival weekend. Afterwards, the last square concert of the 2026 season at the music pavilion with the Westendorf music band will form a musical highlight of the evening.
