„rITTERspielplatz“ - Knights' Realm Playground
Enthusiastic fun and games for young knights and damsels in Itter
In autumn 2015 construction works started for the “rITTERspielplatz”, a themed children’s playground and cultural meeting place for families. This knights' realm playground extends over an area of 900 m2 by the walter lily pond in Itter and was opened in spring 2016
The heart of the playground is a big play castle with several slides, nets, climbing facilities and a pendant bridge. The castle is surrounded by balancing facilities, a castle ruin with a cave, swings, a flying fox as well as rocking horses.
Quiz boards with questions and answers referring to Itter castle have been placed all over the playground to give children and parents in a playful way an understanding of the history of Itter castle and the village.
The playground lies enthroned in one of the most beautiful spots of Itter, along the Rosenweg, the „Trail of Roses“. It can only be reached on foot (no cars permitted) Parking is possible near the village square as well as in the parking lot of Club Hotel Edelweiss. Just follow the signs.
Walking time: approx. 5 minutes
The playground is free of charge and daily open until 8:00 p.m.
The next public toilets are in the town hall (0,5 km). Dogs are allowed in the area by the water lily pond next to the Rosenweg only.
