Tour information

Technical uphill passages through rocks, summit climb on the Kirchberg, mountain pine fields, trails and wonderful panoramic views... a very varied route that should be run in dry conditions.
From St. Jakob i.H. you walk in an easterly direction, past the Pillersee mountain railway to St. Ulrich am Pillersee. In the centre, at the Seewirt restaurant, turn left and follow the asphalt road to the Mack mountain pine distillery. There the more demanding ascent begins via the "Steinerne Stiege" (trail through rocky terrain, surefootedness! Beware of wet conditions!) through the limestone valley towards Kirchberg. Once you have reached the summit at 1,678 m above sea level, you walk down towards the Gerstbergalm, where beautiful trails await you in the direction of the Winterstelleralm, Hohe Scharte and Lehrberg, before you walk the last few metres along the road back to the centre of St. Jakob i.H..
