Slope preparation - along with ski piste preparation - is among the most time-consuming maintenance work which takes place during the colder season. In PillerseeTal slope fees are levied, to provide small recompense for the considerable maintenance costs. Slope supervisors provide - and also check - information for their guests and locals alike about the cross-country slopes in Fieberbrunn, Hochfilzen, St. Jakob in Haus, St. Ulrich am Pillersee and Waidring.

The PillerseeTal is widely known as the snowiest region of Tyrol and therefore offers perfect conditions for your cross-country skiing holiday! Especially Hochfilzen, as the snowiest village in Tyrol, offers its cross-country skiing guests from the end of November to the beginning of April perfectly groomed trails for skaters as well as for classic cross-country skiing.
In the PillerseeTal there is a standardized track signage with detailed descriptions of the trail, elevation profile, infrastructure such as toilets, lockers and parking lots as well as an overview of the trails throughout the valley.

Numerous cross-country skiing events await our winter guests from mid-December to mid-March: starting with the FIS Continental Cup in cross-country skiing and the annual BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon, the Dutch cross-country championships will ensure exciting competition for the first time this winter. In March, the KRONE Volksbiathlon, including the kids biathlon, and the Hochfilzen ClassiXcs team competition takes place. At the weekly guest biathlon you can test your marksmanship on the shooting range as well as your condition on the trail!
