Tour information

The starting point of this hike is the valley station in Itter. From there, take the Salvistabahn to the middle station. Follow the signs towards Alpengasthof Rigi (No. 70), passing the Kleine Salve reservoir. You then reach the summit of the Hohe Salve via path No. 65.
To return to the starting point in Itter, follow the same path (No. 70).

Getting there Coming from Innsbruck/Munich: A12, take the Wörgl Ost exit – follow the B178 feeder road towards St. Johann im Tirol and Kitzbühel – after the tunnel, stay on the B178 for approx. 3 km (pass under the roundabout) – Follow Luechstraße onto Loferer Straße – take the Salvistabahn Itter exit.
Coming from Kitzbühel: Take the B170 Brixentalstraße towards Wörgl – drive through Hopfgarten until just before the town boundary (Hopfgarten railway station) – approx. 100 metres after Hopfgarten railway station, follow the signs to the right towards Itter – follow Itterer Straße. Turn right onto the B178 – take the Salvistabahn Itter exit

Regional guest card = train ticket from Kirchbichl to Hochfilzen + bus ticket from Mariastein to Kitzbühel included!
Valid on ÖBB local trains (S, REX) and InterRegio trains (IR) between Kirchbichl - Wörgl and Hochfilzen
