Trail Basics – The Taste of Freeride

Everything you always wanted to know about trail riding, theoretically and practically! Basic positions, correct braking, berms, rollers, small drops, application on the trail.

Programme: Everything you always wanted to know about trail riding, in theory and in practice! Basic positions, correct braking, berms, rollers, small drops, use on the trail. We start at the car park in front of the Hotel Cooee Alpin with exercises on the system's centre of gravity and trail behaviour. Target braking exercises show us which braking technique is the right one. In between, we check our balance, coordination and linkage skills. ALL in a relaxed but goal-orientated environment for EVERYONE, whether beginner or advanced!

Our next step is to lift the front and rear wheel to overcome obstacles. Depending on the size of the group, we also include the piggy and bunny hop. In the skills park right next door, we then take care of the berm technique, i.e. riding slightly steep bends. The rollers and flat tables help us to adapt to the terrain. There is also a small drop, so a little jumping for the brave.

Requirements: for both experienced bikers and motivated beginners

Age group: for teenagers (from 14 years) and adults

Equipment: Bikes (fullys) and protectors for the trail (possibly also for the PP exercises knee and shin because of the pins on the flats!) can be hired from the Bike Nature Store on site. Prices for this and for the lift ticket are separate, but special prices for our guests!

Costs: free with St. Johann Card (€ 60,- without guest card), bike not included
