The Grossglockner High Alpine Road has been one of Austria's most monumental landmarks for nearly 90 years. It combines the high art of high alpine road construction with the grandiose natural experience in the Hohe Tauern National Park, the largest nature reserve in the Alps and one of the most fascinating landscapes on Earth. Many visitors from all over the world "conquer" the legendary "Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe" at an altitude of 2,369 meters each year on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road.
