A lovely guided hiking tour, tasty products provided by the rural youth and the farmers' wives of Itter as well as great entertainment with music and nice talks are the ingredients of the popular TT Hiking Cup in the Holiday Region Hohe Salve.
The hike starts at the venue of the event, the Salvista gondola lift in Itter. Our destination for today: the Kleine Salve. Directly at the summit of the Kleine Salve there is the reservoir "Kleiner Speichersee", the perfect spot to relax and regain our strength after the exhausting ascent. Before the hike, stamp passes will be handed out and all hikers with a complete pass will receive a hiking pin. There is no prior registration needed.
Family route 6,5 km
The start of this almost 2,5-hour tour is the mountain station of the Salvista gondola lift at the Kleine Salve. From there we follow the sign towards Rigi and walk past the reservoir Speichersee Kleine Salve. Once at the inn Alpengasthof Rigi (refreshments optional) we continue along trail no. 71 in the direction of Salvensee. From there we can enjoy breathtaking views of the Hohe Tauern and the Kitzbühel Alps. We leave the Salvensee behind us and now follow the sign towards Keatalm (no 71) and then down to KRAFTalm.
Expert route 12,4 km
The expert route also starts at the mountain station of the Salvista gondola lift at the Kleine Salve. From there we follow the sign towards Keatalm (no. 71). As soon as we have passed the Salvensee lake the path takes us steep but never dangerous on to the summit of the Hohe Salve (first stamp post). Thanks to its stand-alone position, the Hohe Salve offers a unique 360-degree panorama. Now the forest trail leads in nicly laid out bends to the mountain inn Alpengasthof Rigi (second stamp post) which can be seen already shortly below the summit. On we go along trail no. 67 and 68 towards Schorn. Shortly before this wonderful farmstead we turn right into the forest and in the direction of KRAFTalm.(trail no 68b and 69). After a short but steep ascent we reach our destination – the fully restructured KRAFTalm.
