In his play "Glashütte - Die Sehnsucht des Sandkorns" the author Ernst Streng succeeds in showing the historic dimensions of the Hörbrunn ruins. This magic place in Hopfgarten which once was the actual place where the action had happened now is becoming the setting of the theatre play.
1872: glassworks owner Franz Friedrich can consider himself fortunate with 200 employees and fat profits over decades. To express his gratitude, he decides to build a church for his employees. Marie, maid at the mill, and the young glass manufacturer Pavel are in love and would like to be the first couple to tie the knot in this church. But life, sometimes, is a mean traitor … and nothing happens as planned.
The actors of the Volksbühne Hopfgarten and Volksbühne Westendorf theatre will be under the artistic direction of Markus Plattner who already staged the Erl Passion Play. The limited tickets can be purchased from Sparkasse Hopfgarten or from the Volksbühne Hopfgarten website. Price: EUR 22,00
