The Wörgl Museum of Local History from 1931 was looted and closed after the Second World War. It was not until 1980 that the Wörgl Local History Museum Association was founded on the initiative of Josef Zangerl and the museum was reopened. Exhibits from the first mention of Wörgl in Roman times to the present are on display. One focus is on the Wörgl free money experiment of 1932/33. The local history museum also administers the estate of the author Hans Hömberg.
