Eagle Walk Stage 06: Pinegg - Steinberg am Rofan
After a good night’s sleep in Pinegg, take a walk from Gwercherwirt Inn over the bridge across Brandenberger Ache River and follow Jägersteig Path all the way to Aschau, a hamlet of Brandenberg. Take the paved road to get to Burgstallgraben, from where the path winds up to Wimm, Wimmerjoch Peak and old Lahnalm Alpine Pasture Hut. From there, walk across Weißenbachgraben Gorge to reach the “most beautiful end of the world”, Steinberg am Rofan. The surroundings are so beautiful that it is tempting to stay for a while, but use your newfound energy and continue on the Eagle Walk a little further: cross Steinberger Ache River to get to Vordersteinberg, then take Bärenwald Path through the forest to cosy Waldhäusl Inn, where it is possible to stay overnight.

Eagle Walk Stage 07: Jausenstation Waldhäusl - Erfurter Hütte
Fully enjoy the scenic diversity of the Rofan Mountain Range on this challenging walk, with its gentle pastoral hills to the south and the sheer rock faces to the north. Once you have passed Durrahof Farm, continue on the E4 Long-Distance Hiking Trail to Labegg Graben. Afterwards, the route will take you through Schauertal Valley and to idyllic Zireinersee Lake. This aquatic gem is unbelievably deep – 200 metres – and so cold that you’ll have to steel yourself just to dip your little toe into the water. But you can also follow the example of Rofanspitze Peak that is reflected upside down in the crystal-clear mountain waters. From the lake, you will walk along Schafsteig Trail just below Rofanspitze Peak (weather permitting) where you then follow signage to Erfurter Hut, which is located next to the top terminal of Rofan Gondola.

Eagle Walk Stage 04: Kufstein - Gasthof Buchacker
When leaving the charming historic small town behind, you might still be able to hear the sound of the “Heroes’ Organ” with its 4,948 perfectly tuned pipes – the world’s largest outdoor organ. First, take the train to Unterlangkampfen where the trail starts right above the church. Follow a steady climb through old-growth forest to gain elevation once again. Then take on a narrow path from Höhlensteinhaus Lodge to Köglhörndl, where you will enjoy magnificent views of Inntal Valley. The path continues to Hundsalmjoch Col at 1,637 metres altitude. Close to Alpengasthof Buchacker you will find Hundalm Ice Cave, at an elevation of 1,520 metres. Descend to the underground world directly from the top of the mountain. Almost like Plato’s allegory of the cave!

Looking for writers on the pastures Spectacular mountain pasture hike. This route leads through easy to … moderately difficult climbs and forest routes, with ascents being moderate and only a little steeper on short sections. With around 1,200 metres to be gained in total, you need some stamina, however. Along the route, you will pass countless mountain pastures. If you are lucky, you will be able to meet the 'pasture writer', Sepp Kahn, on the Unteren Lärchenbergalm. He records the life of an Alpine dairy farmer in his diaries.

KAT Walk Stage 5 – Scaling peaks
A physically demanding stage over the well-known Kitzbüheler Horn to St. Johann in Tirol, which you can shorten with the help of several cable cars, however. Views in all directions, a well-kept alpine flower garden and several stopping off points make this stage a special experience! The way down from the mountain to Harschbichl is spectacular. On the descent you can also use the Bergbahn Harschbichl cable car to get to St. Johann - (1,600m–650m, and a time saving of around two hours).
