Wörgl – Achensee – Tegernsee – Schliersee – Thiersee – Kufstein - Wörgl
Great tour of the lakes in Tyrol and Bavaria
Lake Achensee is the largest lake of Tyrol, lake Tegernsee one of the most scenic backdrops in Bavaria, Lake Schliersee and also lake Thiersee beckon over to have a stop off by the banks.
Start the tour at the parish church in Wörgl. Go to Kundl and Kramsach and on to Münster and along the federal road to lake Achensee (pleasant incline with a gradient below 10%). Ride past Tyrol’s largest lake and continue via the Achenpass (941m) to lake Tegensee which is idyllically situated in the Bavarian Mangfall mountains. Before Gmund follow the road towards Schliersee and go on via Neuhaus to Bayrischzell. Get back over the border to lake Thiersee above which majestically thrones the “Kufsteinerhaus” upon Pendling mountain. From Thiersee ride down to Kufstein and via Langkampen back to Wörgl.
