Nature and adventure route - Unterer Grundr Grund

The round tour begins as the kneipp centre in Aschau.  Walk from the middle point of the Kitzbüheler Alpen straight ahead to the carpark, Ebenau.  The path runs along a nature trail, which is situated beside the river in the so-called “Unteren Grund” (lower ground).  After half an hour’s walk you will reach a waterfall with a suspension bridge and a small viewing platform.  After another half an hour you will reach the exhibition, cheese dairy, the Kasplatzl.   Here it is possible to taste the home-made cheeses and to participate in a guided-tour.  The wide forest road continues uphill, passing different mountain pastures, as far as the Hirzeggalm which is also hosted.  The sports fanatics can make a detour to the Spießnägel summit from here.  The summit is at 1,880m with views of the Großen Rettenstein.  (Duration 1 – 1 ½ hours approx.)
From the Hirzeggalm, a narrow hiking track leads downhill in the direction of the “Oberer Grund” (upper ground).
As soon as you reach the flat, wide, gravel road, you can decide to make another detour to the Klooalm or to follow the route back to Aschau to the kneipp centre again.
 
This hike can also be made in reverse order.
