On a hot summer day, the hike through meadows and forests to Eifersbacher Waterfall in Winkl-Schattseite in St. Johann in Tirol makes for a refreshing experience. The hike starts at the parking lot of Eichenhof lifts. Take a left towards St. Johann and follow Tannweg to its end. At the farmstead pick up the flat meadow trail to the Bichln farm and continue through the forest down to the Theresienbad Chapel. Follow the forest road along Eifersbach River up to the waterfall. The last few meters of the trail were made accessible with bridges and gangways. The waterfall, which falls from a height of 25 meters, makes a great place to relax, soak up the beauty of the surroundings, and to refresh yourself with this clean water.
Leaving the waterfall, the trail climbs steeply for a short distance (steps with rails) until you reach a forest road that takes you down to Grander Schupf (825m). From the mountain inn it's another 25 minutes to the parking lot and start of the hike.
Health Trail at Grander Schupf: walk barefoot on gravel, forest floor & peat moss.
