You start in the centre of Kirchdorf. The hike leads you down the Kirchdorf village street to the Großache. Accompanied by the gentle babbling of the Großache, you follow the footpath to the bridge shortly before Erpfendorf, which you cross. You now walk back to Kirchdorf on the other bank of the Großache, passing the Achenkapelle chapel. Now hike to the centre of the village and along a road with little traffic to the Unteranger district. There you change to the Sonnseitweg. An old hay barn with a stone fountain adorns the path right at the beginning. Along a mountain road with a reasonable incline, you hike past old villages and rustic farms.
Once again you reach a road with little traffic. Here you will find several places to stop (Gasteiger Jagdschlössl, Cafe Erika, Cafe Hautz, Gasthaus Mitterjager, Schaukäserei Wilder Käser). Continue on to the Kramerhof (also a refreshment stop), where you have the option of a tour to the Bacheralm with a refreshment stop and a hearty toboggan ride, or continue on to the Bachermahd. This is a small romantic tour with picturesque impressions. In front of your eyes you can see the mighty Wilder Kaiser, deep snow-covered Heutstadl and trees in their rough winter dress.
