Indie Pub Night

It marked a truly memorable moment in the cultural life of the region around St. Johann in Tirol: the first meeting of the improv orchestra free music st johann in November 2015. Musicians from a variety of styles, with a colorful array of instruments and voices, came together to regularly and consistently make music together, to experiment with sounds, and to celebrate free improvisation. After performances at the ORF studio in Innsbruck, the Vienna Echo Room, the Old Slaughterhouse Wels, Salzburg's jazz:it, and at the artacts and Klangspuren Schwaz festivals, they now celebrate their 10th anniversary on stage. For this occasion, they have invited the internationally highly renowned musician Franz Hautzinger to join the band!

Beforehand, the film Time Turner* will be shown on the big screen. The documentary by Kibidoué Eric Bayala (director), Marco Friedrich Trenkwalder, and Stefan Huber (camera) seeks dialogue with Tyrolean cultural creators and focuses on their engagement with a pressing issue of our time: the handling of borders, migration, and the question of how exchange can take place. free music st johann has provided the live music for this artistic work.
