Moor & More - animals in the moor in the Wilder Kaiser in St. Johann in Tirol
There are many animal species in the moor in the Wilder Kaiser in St. Johann in Tirol. The yellow-bellied toad can be found at Hüttlmoos. This five centimetre batrachian gets its name from its yellow belly. In contrast to its close relative, the local firebelly toad, the yellow-bellied toad, which is found predominantly in mountainous areas, does not have a vocal bladder- so its call is gentle. The moors are also a paradise for a variety of species of birds, butterflies, spiders and dragonflies. There are numerous dragonfly species which live here - among them the golden-ringed dragonfly.
