Monday to Friday (June through to October), free guided hikes are on offer in St. Johann in Tirol, Oberndorf, Kirchdorf and Erpfendorf. Experience really lovely moments together with our qualified mountain guides and mountain hiking guides. There is no charge for taking part in the hikes (except transfer and cable car costs). Registration not required, dogs are not allowed. The exact weekly hiking programm, with an outline of the hiking routes, is available from your accommodation provider and in the local tourist offices. Be shown the loveliest nooks in the Kitzbüheler Alpen and discover the really fascinating mountains in Tirol.

Taxi to Waidring. The Via Ferrata on Steinplatte offers stunning panoramic views all the way to Großglockner and Großvenediger. The trail to the Via Ferrata is mostly easy, with only the last part to the foot of Steinplatte being a little steeper. At the end of the Via Ferrata we continue to the peak of Plattenkogel where we enjoy the magnificent views. We are excited to share our passion for climbing with you! A certified mountain guide will teach you everything you need to know to get started on Via Ferrata climbing and some easy rock climbing. No prior experience required. This tour brings us to the foot of the Wilder Kaiser’s spectacular rock walls. Leaving Griesner Alm, we hike up to the foot of Fleischbank and Totenkirchl. Your climbing guide will begin with a short gear and safety lesson to get you acquainted with the equipment. After a refueling break at Stripsenjochhütte we will hike to the nearby practice climbing area on Stripsenkopf where we will show you how to ascend a Via Ferrata safely. This tour is the week’s undisputed highlight. What could be better than being on the top of a mountain for sunrise? Starting at Wochenbrunner Alm, we will head out under the moonlight for an unforgettable journey. Be amazed by the starry night sky still twinkling above in the darkness and watch the night give way to the day as you ascend. Once at the top, we will get to watch the sun rise and light up the sky with purples and pinks and orange streaks. An experience that will stay with you for a long time! To get back to Griesner Alm we take the mighty Steinerne Rinne, which is flanked by the steep rock walls of Fleischbank and Predigtstuhl. This tour starts at Fischbachalm in the pristine Kaiserbachtal nature preserve. The trail climbs steeply to Kleines Griesner Kar, a rock-strewn cirque. The route then traces a way roughly through the middle of an extremely steep scree slope. At the most difficult spot a cable has been fixed to which climbers must attach themselves. Afterwards you will continue the ascend roped to the mountain guide. The effort is rewarded with magnificent panorama views of Lake Chiemsee, the Loferer and Leoganger Steinberge, the Kitzbüheler Alps and the Kaiser mountains. After a rest, we descend back to the cirque, circumvent Mitterkaiser and continue down via Fritz Pflaum Hütte to Griesner Alm. This strenuous loop offers spectacular views from one of the Kaiser’s most quiet peaks. The straightest way along the rugged northern side to the top of Kitzbüheler Horn. This Via Ferrata offers grippy rock, steep climbs, exposed ridges and marvelous views. The tour is accompanied by a certified mountain guide to ensure you have a safe and fun Via Ferrata experience. Your guide will also teach you everything you need to know about Via Ferrata equipment and the right rope technique. Small groups allow for personalized attention and tailored instruction. We take the gondola to Harschbichl (please note: lift ticket is NOT included in the price!) from where it’s only a short walk to the entry of the Via Ferrata. We ascend the Via Ferrata to the peak where we enjoy magnificent views of the Wilder Kaiser range and the Kitzbüheler Alps all the way to the Hohe Tauern.
