Local heritage museum St. Johann in Tirol

Note

In the 18th century the two buildings served as correction houses for priests accused of inappropriate behavior. For the past several years the houses have been accommodating a museum and gallery to document the historic development of St. Johann in Tirol. Points of focus include historic costumes, history of the local schools, Schützen and battles for freedom, copper and silver mining, the former summer residence of the bishops of Lake Chiemsee, the beginnings of tourism, nostalgic memorabilia, and the Kaiser Massif.
