In summer and winter the 30-metre high Jakobskreuz on the summit of Buchensteinwand attracts numerous guests to the region as a top excursion destination. The viewing platform and stalactite cave on the Waidringer Steinplatte can also be visited year round. For families, our mountain experience worlds and the Familienland adventure park are always worth a visit in summer. In sunshine or in rain, there are numerous excursion destinations to visit in bad weather too. With a height of 29.6 metres, the Jakobskreuz sits high above the Buchensteinwand. The largest walk-in summit cross in the world can be easily reached with the chairlift, by foot or bicycle on one of the numerous hiking trails. In the valley in St. Jakob in Haus the Familienland adventure park features Austria's biggest family rollercoaster and many further highlights. A trip on Timok's Alpine Coaster is another must on a summer holiday in PillerseeTal. You can get up close to marine reptiles from over 200 million years ago in the Triassic Park on the Waidringer Steinplatte. The Triassic Beach is also a great place to cool off on hot summer days!

The family-friendly PillerseeTal with its resorts of Fieberbrunn, Hochfilzen, St. Jakob in Haus, St. Ulrich am Pillersee and Waidring have a load of surprises in store for those big and small. The Pillersee amusement park with its new rollercoaster is just one of numerous extraordinary holiday experiences. Added to that is the Triassic Park Waidring, which leads you into the history of the earth on Europe's largest dry reef. Along with the Triassic Trail discovery trail, the glass viewing platform positioned 70 metres above the chasm is another spectacular highlight. Another jewel in the green landscape of Pillerseetal is Timok's Wild World, which is flanked by climbable granite rock and a forest rope course, and also offers a thrilling rollercoaster with Timok's Coaster. The Jakobskreuz is also definitely one of our top highlights in winter! When the landscape is covered in marvellous white, the Jakobskreuz shines out on top of Buchensteinwand. A visit to the largest walk-in summit cross in the world is an absolute must. All young holidaymakers are sure to be tempted to try Timok's Coaster at the Streuböden middle station in Fieberbrunn. With a length of 1,160 m, this winter rollercoaster offers fun and action for the entire family! Should the weather not quite play its part, you can pay a visit to the Dead Sea Salt Cave in the Familienland adventure park in St. Jakob in Haus.

Following in the footsteps of Mozart & Co - town and city trips

PillerseeTal is an ideal base for short town and city trips. The spectacular old town of Kitzbühel is just around half an hour's drive away from us. Mozart's City of Salzburg can be reached within an hour and Innsbruck is around an hour and a half away. The fortress and old town of Kufstein can also be reached in less than an hour. The best thing about it is the towns and cities can all be comfortably reached by train or bus - easily and hassle-free. Discover the town or city, visit a museum or go for a top-class dining experience - there are a great range of excursion destinations and sights in the nearby towns and cities.
