The highest peak of the Kitzbüheler Alpen - the Torhelm

An insider's tip in the Tyrolean lowlands. The Torhelm at the head of the Langer Grund valley in Kelchsau is the highest "hikeable" peak in the Kitzbüheler Alpen, thus offering brilliant panoramic views.
The Torhelm can be scaled from Kelchsau as well as from the Zillertal Valley. On the summit, there’s a huge wooden cross, which was erected in 1978.
In winter and more often in spring, the Torhelm is a popular destination for ski touring enthusiasts.
