This long-distance hike promises uniquely beautiful experiences and many highlights on 4 stages across the Kitzbühel Alps. The 63 km near the valley extend from Hopfgarten via the Brixental to St. Johann in Tirol and end in St. Ulrich am Pillersee. Always to be found along the way: warm hospitality, nature spectacles and wintry silence.
Even at the start of the tour, you get a feel for the upcoming days: Filled with
tradition, culture, culinary delights and
untouched nature, Tyrol shows you its most dreamy side.
Stage 1 starts in the historic market town of
Hopfgarten and leads over the quiet and peaceful Windau to the sunny plateau of
Westendorf. Carriage rides in the snow can be a romantic highlight here, but the local dairy is also looking forward to many visitors with regional delicacies.
The hike on
stage 2 leads leisurely through the village centers of
Brixen im Thale and
Kirchberg in Tirol, where a trip to higher altitudes with the mountain railway is always worthwhile. The
alpine igloo village of Hochbrixen with its impressive igloos, ice sculptures and figures is a unique highlight! In addition, the inviting inns in the villages in the heart of the
Kitzbühel Alps always entice with culinary delights for gourmets from near and far.
Shortly before the stage destination, there is an alternative option to visit the Ehrenbachhöhe with the
Fleckalmbahn and even hike between mountain peaks to the Hahnenkamm.
Following the route in the valley, the second stage ends in
Reith, a suburb of Kitzbühel, from where the magical
Schwarzsee is easily accessible for a detour.
Stage 3 leads on the edge of Kitzbühel to
Oberndorf and finally to
St. Johann in Tirol. On the way, a trip to the World Cup city of
Kitzbühel is definitely worthwhile. Here, Tyrolean charm, glamor and alpine exclusivity are lived in a unique combination.
The stage destination after
Oberndorf with its regional farm shops is the baroque market town of
St. Johann in Tirol. Filled with classic inns, modern bars and even its own brewery, the town center invites you to linger. But activities such as an
illuminated ice rink,
skydiving and
flying fox also offer great alternatives for adventurers!
The demanding
4th and last stage on the long-distance hiking trail leads over 23 km from St. Johann in Tirol through the charming
Pillerseetal valley. Here you have the opportunity to visit the
Jakobskreuz, the world's highest accessible summit cross, at a lofty height on the Buchensteinwand in
St. Jakob in Haus. On the route you can enjoy the hike along the enchanting lake Pillersee, which gives the valley its name. The long hike ends at the cozy Gasthof Adolari, which is located right next to the pilgrimage church. A truly perfect place to review past experiences, take a deep breath and end the
