Tour information

Marvel at historic farms, hike along the centuries-old Römerweg (Roman path) and arrive in the lively market town of St. Johann in Tirol.
With a view of the striking Kitzbüheler Horn and the Wilder Kaiser as a constant companion, the route leads over wonderfully situated farms on the Bichlach and the Römerweg on the edge of Kitzbühel towards Oberndorf. The stage destination is St. Johann in Tirol.

Today's hike starts at Münichau Castle, there you have to cross the street and then turn right over the Bahaus. Then you walk slightly uphill on the Gieringweg, towards Waldbad Giering Weiher, which serves as a mud bath in summer and is sometimes used for ice stock sport in winter.
After the Vogelsberger Weiher you follow a hiking trail. Then continue down the valley in the direction of Kitzbühel. Before the bridge keep right, along the Großache towards the main road. Cross the road in front of the recycling hall to reach the road in the direction of Kitzbüheler Horn.

The route goes through the railroad underpass slightly uphill towards Oberndorf. Along the Walsenbachweg through the settlement Grub. Here you can already sense the flair of Kitzbühel. Keeping diagonally left over the small bridge, you walk past the beautiful Högler farm to leave the Edge ot town and walk along the Römerweg to Oberndorf.

In Oberndorf you walk through the district of Wiesenschwang, continuing on the route towards St. Johann.
At the signpost stay on the asphalt road.
On the last section of today's tour you will pass the founding and main location of the international wood factory Egger, which employs over 10,000 people worldwide. After the timber mill, walk to the main road and turn right along the campsite towards the center of St. Johann in Tirol.

Here the Römerweg joins the Speckbacherstraße and soon you will reach the beginning of the center of St. Johann in Tirol.

KAT Walk “complete hassle-free package” bookers turn right onto Hornweg about 100 meters before the railroad crossing at Hotel Park to get to today's accommodation, Hotel Crystal.
